We discovered this hidden gem about 2 years ago (maybe more) when I was randomly searching Google for fish restaurants). It’s in the middle of an industrial estate and when you turn into it you think your satnav has borked - but it hasn’t. We phoned on spec to see if they had a table and the rest as they say is history. Since then, we’ve taken numerous friends here and like us they have fallen in love with the Quayside. There are not many fish restaurants in the midlands and certainly none that I can name where they source their fish direct from the fishermen in Cornwall. The restaurant opens from Wednesday to Saturday and when they run out they run out. No diving into the freezer or calling the local cash and carry for more stock. Also if you book for 1pm and someone else has booked for 12:30 they get to choose from the menu (which is written on blackboards) first. Which is only fair. The price of the fish reflects what they have paid for it so sometimes dishes might be more expensive than other times. Today, I had oysters and octopus - and it was a first for me on both dishes. Amazing.. my friends (who had never been before) had monkfish in miso and the skillet of scallops (the biggest juiciest you’ve ever seen), mussels and crevettes cooked in hot garlic and butter. My other half the lemon sole. We were there for 3 hours, we were not rushed, the service as ever excellent and the diners all around us were all looking over their shoulders as to what everyone else in the restaurant had ordered (as did we). As my friend said - she could have ordered everything on the menu. If you want a really good meal, in a lovely setting, by Stourport Marina this hidden gem is for you. If you are expecting the kind of food M&B serve then don’t go. Please note you do need to book in advance now as they are always fully booked unless you go on a lunch time. This is by far my favourite midlands restaurant and we travelled for over an hour to get there. It was worth it. 10/10.

What a wonderful place we discovered by recommendation from friends. It is located at Stourport marina with a wonderful sun terrace overlooking the boats and also lovely inside. The portions are huge - many dishes can be shared by two people - which puts the prices into perspective. The fish and seafood is so fresh and the quality is outstanding. It comes freshly from Cornwall and I've honestly never eaten better quality anywhere and we have tried loads all over the world. I am so glad we found this and we will definitely come again and keep returning. Wonderful we have been back since and again, wonderful food and the staff are so friendly and attentive - we had a fabulous evening

Friends had recommended The Quayside restaurant and we visited on 21 February. It didn't fail to deliver. The service, food, wine and atmosphere was absolutely sublime. Besides the fabulous food, I believe the service was the best we have ever experienced and a special thank you to Sue who was our waitress, as she was efficient, kind and very informative. We will definitely be visiting again soon

Great menu with friendly and welcoming service. Birthday meal for a table of 8 and our food was served with great efficiency. Everyone enjoyed their food. Can wait to go back. In particular, in the summer, to enjoy dining with views over the marina. A real treat, if you like fish, then you must try this for lots of choice. Tasty steaks and pasta meals too.

Wow! Did not expect this!! I was slightly nervous ordering the mussels, but I was very much happily surprised! Tasted just like my grandad (Dutch/Belgian) used to do them, and not a grain of sand in sight!! My partners mixed platter looked superb too and he ate the lot! No middlemen, straight from the boat to our plates, you will taste the difference, not forgetting the complimentary salad we got before we even ordered, delicious! I can really honestly highly recommend this restaurant tucked away by the Marina, but make sure to book well in advance, that's a must as it is very popular the menu can and will vary, depending on the catch of the day As for the service, couldn't find a place more friendly and professional we WILL be back!! Eta my grandad passed away about 10 yrs ago and it's been many many years since I moved away from the Netherlands and even had my grandad's mussels, hense I was so happy about them, brought back happy memories
